Today, we learned that Benedict Bridgerton’s love story will be the focus of season four of the hit Netflix series, Bridgerton.
If you don’t know, each season has put focus on one Bridgerton sibling as they find love.
Season four is now confirmed to follow Benedict (played by Luke Thompson) as he falls in love at his mother’s masquerade ball. In the book series, Benedict ends up marrying a woman named Sophie Beckett.
Now, the show’s showrunner Jess Brownell, and Luke, are speaking out about what’s to come.
Jess told Tudum she’s “very excited” for what is to come. “It felt important for him to explore the fullness of himself before he settles down. He is someone who has big appetites, and we wanted to see him living a big life before he goes into settle-down mode.”
She continued, “I’m excited for where we’re going with him in Season 4. There are a lot of things I want to say about it, but I should probably wait…”
Luke also spoke out about his character’s identity, after exploring his sexuality in season three.
Luke shared, “His identity has been little bit of a question mark, but it doesn’t ever seem to really bother him. It often feels like … ‘You’re either this, or you’re this.’ He’s finding it out.”
Jess added, “Season 3 also puts him in a place where he’s really exploring more sides of himself. I think he feels things very deeply.”
