Joe Biden is speaking out after his lackluster performance at the first 2024 Presidential Debate.
The 81-year-old President of the United States is running for re-election against former President Donald Trump.
While Biden had some trouble getting his points across, he was praised by supporters for his strong policies. While Trump did have a commanding presence, he has been called out for the lies he told on stage. Celebs have even called out the debate moderators for not fact-checking during the night.
While making a campaign stop in North Carolina on Friday (June 28), Biden assured supporters that he’s staying in the race and he addressed his performance at the debate.

“I don’t walk as easily as I used to, I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to,” he said (via Variety). “But I know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. I know how to do this job.”
“I know like millions of Americans know — when you get knocked down, you get back up!” he added.
Biden said, “I would not be running if I did not believe with all my heart and soul that I can do this job. The stakes are too high. Donald Trump is a genuine threat to this nation… Donald Trump will destroy our democracy and I will defend it.”
