The run for the original Inside Out grossed a total of $859 million.
It’s an impressive feat, especially when you consider that the sequel is not being shown in Russia and won’t premiere in Japan until August.
Inside Out 2 is officially one of the top 10 best grossing animated movies of all time in North America, and there is speculation that the movie will surpass $1 billion in the coming days.
Interest in the movie has been so strong from the beginning that the Pixar project drew comparisons to last year’s blockbuster Barbie.
After the success of this movie, fans should expect sequels to other Pixar projects, including two huge hits.
