Luke Combs is looking back at the birth of his second son.
The 34-year-old country music singer and his wife Nicole welcomed their second child, son Beau, back in August 2023.
In a new interview, Luke got emotional as he revealed why he wasn’t there with Nicole when she gave birth to Beau.
Keep reading to find out more…“I’ll never forget the craziest day, probably, in my life,” Luke shared on The Zane Lowe Show. “One of the best and one of the worst days in my life at the same time.”
“It’s August 16. I’m in Sydney, Australia, in a hotel room, and we’re on tour in Australia,” Luke recalled. “I probably woke up at around 8:00 a.m. Australia time, and I had a text from my wife, and it said, ‘I’m so sorry, I really tried to not have the baby while you’re gone.’”
Holding back tears, Luke added, “God, dude, it sucked.”
Due to the time difference between Australia and the United States, Nicole gave birth on August 15.
“He wasn’t born yet, but my wife texted me on the way to the hospital,” Luke said. “He was two and a half weeks early, and I was supposed to be home and I wasn’t.”
While he couldn’t be there in-person, Luke was virtually present for Beau‘s birth while Nicole was surrounded by loved ones, including her mom and sister.
“My wife had a really great support system with her for that experience,” Luke noted, “which I’m very thankful for.”
Along with Beau, Luke and Nicole are also parents to son Tex.
