But Monday night’s red carpet appearance was the couple’s first official outing with the yet-to-be-confirmed engagement ring, which Miley displayed in the classiest way possible (delicately draped over her alleged fiancé’s chest).
So who is Miley’s potential second husband? Morando, 27, is a musician and producer best known as the drummer for the band Liily. Miley and Maxx were first linked in the fall of 2021, when she casually mentioned to Vogue that her outfit for an event in Atlanta was a “one-of-a-kind collaboration between two of [her] favorite emerging artists, Maxx Morando and Shane Kastl.” (Author’s note: I will be calling all my hookups “one-of-a-kind collaborations” from now on.)
A month later, the two were photographed holding hands at an event for Gucci, and in a clear Zillennial declaration of love, Miley included a pic of the two of them together in an IG photo dump.
By March 2022, the relationship was confirmed, and the pair were spotted smooching in LA, attending fashion shows, and grabbing dinner at—where else?—Nobu. In March 2023, Maxx revealed himself as one of the one-of-a-kind collaborators on Miley’s latest album, Endless Summer Vacation.
Could Liam Hemsworth do that? No chance. Dude can’t even buy flowers. In May 2023, Miley revealed to Vogue UK that the two had actually been set up by friends on a blind date—though she did acknowledge it was “a blind date for me, and not really for him.” Ever since, the two have been engaged in a “healthy, positive, fruitful” relationship.
All that’s to say, we may be feasting our eyes on a very glam-rock Miley wedding extravaganza in the near future. I guess there are some things left to live for.
- Millie Bobby Brown? More like Millie Bonnie Bongiovi. (She changed her name.) [People]
