West Ham United are continuing talks with Borussia Dortmund for the signature of striker Niclas Fullkrug as an alternative to Aston Villa hitman Jhon Duran.
The Hammers identified Duran as their primary attacking target for this summer as they hunt a new striker.
However, Aston Villa’s asking price is one West Ham are not willing to meet and the situation has not changed, with the Villa Park outfit sticking to their stance.
West Ham have since turned to Dortmund’s Fullkrug and an offer for the Germany international has been made.
It is not high enough for Dortmund and, according to Sky Deutschland, it is a case of ‘poker ongoing’ in the talks between the two clubs.
West Ham are offering €25m for Fullkrug, but Dortmund want €30m.
AC Milan have also been keen on Fullkrug this summer, however they have now been priced out of a deal.
Dortmund stand ready to sell the attacker, but the jury is out on whether they or West Ham will blink first in the game of transfer poker.
