FC Twente skipper Robin Propper has now arrived in the UK as he closes in on joining Rangers, according to the Rangers Review.
Philippe Clement has moved quickly after the sale of Connor Goldson and a fee has been agreed with Twente for Propper, which is claimed to be worth several million euros.
Twente signed Propper on a free transfer from Heracles and are to make a substantial profit, but losing their skipper before the start of the season is rated as less than ideal in the Netherlands.
Rangers are now moving to wrap up the capture of the centre-back and Propper has landed in the UK.
The Gers will now put Propper through a thorough medical ahead of finalising a contract for him to join the club.
The deal is expected to be done soon and Propper could even be available for Rangers’ Scottish Premiership opener against Hearts.
Whether Clement would launch the defender straight into the starting eleven at Tynecastle remains to be seen.
Propper represents an important piece of business for Clement and the Rangers boss will be hoping he quickly adapts to the demands of Scottish football.
