The Marxist Coordination Committee (MCC) merged with CPI(ML), as announced by leaders Haldhar Mahto and Raja Ram Singh. This merger aligns with MCC founder A K Rai's vision of unity among Communist parties. They believe it will bolster the fight for tribal and farmers' rights and challenge the BJP in Jharkhand.
In an unprecedented move, five Bangladeshi refugees in relief camps at Sindhanur taluk, Karnataka, were granted Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). This marks the first instance of such a grant in the state. Among those awarded citizenship were Ramakrishnan Abhikari, Advith, Sukumar, Bipradas Golder, and Jayant Mandal. Approximately 146 refugees had filed for citizenship online.
