Peringattu Parambu, a division of the Maradu municipality on the fringes of Kochi city, is home to over 1,000 migrant workers from Surada in Odisha. Better pay and the absence of caste bias have drawn these workers, mainly from the SC and ST communities, to this part of Kerala.
