Longtime green industry journalist Scott Hollister is joining North Coast Media's team as the new editor-in-chief of Landscape Management.

For the first time since 2012, two of the industry’s top editors will again work together, making the editorial teams on Landscape Management (LM) and Golfdom the strongest, most experienced in the industry.
North Coast Media (NCM), parent company of Golfdom magazine and Golfdom‘s sister publication, Landscape Management magazine, is proud to announce longtime green industry journalist Scott Hollister is joining their team as the new editor-in-chief of Landscape Management. Hollister previously spent 26 years as the editor-in-chief of Golf Course Management (GCM) magazine, the publication of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

Hollister, a graduate of Baker University, is a past president of the Turf and Ornamental Communicators Association (TOCA). He has won numerous TOCA awards over the years and is known for his willingness to get his hands dirty when reporting on his readers — like when he volunteered to work on the maintenance crew for the 2010 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. Prior to his career at GCSAA, he was the sports editor for the Olathe Daily News. He also serves as a stringer for Major League Baseball and is a member of the Golf Writers Association of America.
“I’m unbelievably excited about the opportunity to join North Coast Media and the Landscape Management team,” Hollister says. “It was an amazing 26 years with GCSAA and Golf Course Management, and I’m extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish there. But the chance to join an industry leader like LM and play a role in continuing — and hopefully building upon — the great work that this team already produces was impossible to pass up. I’m humbled by the trust that’s been placed in me by Kevin, Seth (Jones, editorial director), Bill (Roddy, publisher), Craig (MacGregor, associate publisher) and everyone at NCM, and can’t wait to get started.”
LM’s current Editor-in-Chief, Seth Jones, will move into the role of editorial director for the two brands — Landscape Management and Golfdom — while maintaining his role as Editor-in-Chief of Golfdom, a position he’s held for 13 years. Hollister will help GCSAA wrap up production of the May issue of GCM, then will join the North Coast Media team beginning in mid-April.
“Scott’s work and his work ethic have always stood out to me, especially when we worked together at Golf Course Management from 1999 to 2012,” Jones says. “I’m not going anywhere, I will remain heavily involved with both publications. I’m thrilled to bring my former colleague and longtime friend to these brands … I feel like we’ve gotten the band back together and we’re ready to go on tour.”
Golfdom and LM Publisher Bill Roddy also worked with Hollister previously — as a member of the TOCA Board of Directors.

Readers of Landscape Management can expect to meet Hollister in person soon. He will be attending Elevate, Equip Exposition and all the various industry events the magazine is known for covering in person.
Readers of Golfdom already know Hollister but can expect to see him at next year’s GCSAA Conference and Trade Show in San Diego, among other industry events.
