Notre Dame’s Jaden Greathouse had himself a touchdown catch and run for the ages on Thursday night in the College Football Playoff semifinal against Penn State at the Orange Bowl.
You know when you get beat on a play so bad you just have to sit there and take it? Yeah, that’s what Greathouse did to the Nittany Lions on his 54-yard touchdown, shattering multiple ankles and spirits as Notre Dame tied the game at 24 apiece late in the fourth quarter.
Greathouse didn’t even have to do to much. Just a simple bit of misdirection was enough to put Penn State’s defense in a blender.
RIP, ankles

While the juke after the catch will wind up on every highlight reel after this game, that was somehow the SECOND Penn State player Greathouse sent tumbling to the turf on the same play. Watch the play again and see the defense slip trying to contain him right off the snap.
That’s a big time play in a big game in an even bigger moment.
