An Israeli strike hit a Palestinian refugee camp near Lebanon's northern city of Tripoli for the first time early Saturday, killing a local Hamas commander, his wife and two daughters, according to the Palestinian militant group. The Israeli military also struck a mosque in southern Lebanon that had a Hezbollah command centre, said the army. Massive explosions ripped Hezbollah strongholds in Beirut's southern suburbs and the eastern Bekaa Valley as the death toll in Lebanon surpassed 2,000, according to Lebanese health officials.
