An Israeli army strike on a tent camp housing displaced Palestinians in southern Gaza killed at least 40 people and wounded 60 others, the territory's civil defence agency said early Tuesday. The army said it targeted a Hamas command centre in the Al-Mawasi area, which the military had designated a safe zone early in the war.
