Gunmen have killed 15 people in a mass shooting that targeted a Jewish celebration on Sydney's iconic Bondi Beach in Australia. One of the gunmen -- a 50-year-old man -- was shot. Some 42 people were injured after the men opened fire at a Jewish event on Sunday evening marking the start of the Hanukkah festival. The victims range in age from 10 to 87.
The family of Hollywood director Rob Reiner have confirmed that he and his wife Michelle were found dead at their Los Angeles home on December 14. Police are treating the case as a homicide, saying the couple were both found with stab wounds. The 78-year-old was an Emmy-winning actor before becoming one of the most successful studio directors of the 1980s and 1990s, with films such as Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, Misery and A Few Good Men.
Louvre museum workers voted to strike on December 15, causing the museum to remain closed. Some have found ways to continue some studies online and many hope that a scholarship could help them get out of the badly bombed region.
