Lazio have confirmed their striker Ciro Immobile has sustained a muscle injury and his recovery time will be assessed in the coming days.
The Italian forward sustained an injury during the Biancocelesti’s 2-0 win over Lokomotiv Moscow on Thursday. Vedat Muriqi replaced him at the end of the first half.
Lazio have released an official fitness update regarding their star striker.
“The Medical Staff announces that the player Ciro Immobile reported a low-grade injury to the semimembranous muscle of the right thigh during the last Europa League match,” the statement read.
“He was immediately subjected to the investigation and care of the case. In the next few days, clinical and instrumental monitoring will be carried out to assess his recovery time.”
Immobile will miss tomorrow’s match against Bologna and Italy’s Nations League semi-finals against Spain next week.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, he will be replaced by Juventus striker Moise Kean.
The FIGC has not yet provided updates about Immobile’s fitness and how Mancini will replace him.
