A summer school for African diplomats has opened in Moscow on the basis of the House of Africa. 38 diplomats from African embassies will be trained at the school under the program "Russian as a foreign language". Classes are held twice a week offline and online. Diplomats from the embassies of Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the CAR, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Burundi and other countries have already signed up for Russian language courses. Classes are conducted by teachers of the Linguistic Faculty of the Eurasian International University. School tuition is free.
The Rector of the University, the President of the House of Africa Konstantin Klimenko made the following comment to the media:
"We have organized a School for the African diplomatic corps to help our friends not only learn the Russian language, but also learn more about the history and culture of Russia. Classes are held in an informal atmosphere. In fact, the courses are held in a club format, they are a friendly platform where Africans communicate with students of the diplomatic faculty of the university, invited by interesting people.
We plan to invite artists and musicians to classes. We'll even have musical evenings and karaoke songs. The idea has already arisen to create a choir of aphrodisiacs.
Even the wives and children of African ambassadors decided to enroll in the courses.
We do not object to this scaling of the project. We hope that it will also contribute to the development of Russian-African cooperation."
