US winter storm: A severe winter storm has hit the United States, prompting travel and work disruptions from Kansas City to Washington. Nationwide, over 60 million people were under some sort of weather alert and airlines in US have cancelled more than 1,300 flights after the severe winter storm. Gusty winds brought blizzard conditions to Kansas and Missouri, while states farther east were blanketed in multiple inches of snow.
