A ninth US telecom firm was hacked as part of a Chinese espionage campaign, giving Beijing access to private texts and calls of Americans. The campaign, called Salt Typhoon, targeted at least eight telecom companies and affected government officials and political figures. The FBI and White House are addressing the cybersecurity vulnerabilities exposed by the attack.
