Bharti Airtel adopts a spectrum optimization strategy by refarming 4G spectrum in the 2300 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 900 MHz bands to enhance 5G coverage and capacity in rural regions by 2025. The strategy includes cost-efficient software upgrades of existing 4G base stations to emit 5G signals, avoiding the higher costs of new 5G base stations operating on C-band spectrum.
