Many candidates in 43 assembly segments of Jammu region lost their security deposits by failing to secure enough votes. The National Conference-Congress coalition won 49 seats, while the BJP emerged as the second largest party with 29 seats, all in Jammu. Several prominent party candidates, including those from PDP and BSP, polled fewer votes than NOTA.
