After a long time, probably after March 2024, stock prices and the indices have corrected in a very sharp manner – and across the board. The first phase of any correction is normally led by large-caps, and this time is no different. But remember: Large-caps also tend to recover first when there is a revival. So, before you buy or sell in the current market, consider this: Check if the sector in which the company operates has also seen any problem in the last few weeks. If not, delink market volatility from business volatility. As markets tend to be volatile every so often, long-term investment decisions cannot be based on what the Nifty or Sensex do every week, or even every month. So, until something dramatically wrong has happened with the fundamentals – don't panic.
