India’s military top brass has convened in Lucknow for a two-day Joint Commanders’ Conference (JCC) to review a final blueprint for the nation’s proposed theatre commands. The reorganization, focused on key regional threats from China, Pakistan, and the Indian Ocean Region, aims to enhance integration among the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Pending government approval, the overhaul would take 12-18 months to fully implement. The theatre commands, prepared under Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, signal a significant shift in India’s defence strategy toward a more unified structure.
