Floodwaters in 11 districts have receded, but the aftermath has left many homeless and struggling. The disaster claimed 59 lives and affected over 53 lakh people. Numerous low-income families, particularly farmers, have lost homes and livelihoods. More than seven lakh families remain marooned, though conditions are improving, says the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
