The government will establish Foot and Mouth Disease-free zones in eight states to enhance animal product exports, according to a senior official. This initiative, led by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, aims to boost advanced vaccination efforts. This move is expected to increase India's presence in global markets. A recent workshop organized by the FAO resulted in a prioritized list of 20 animal infectious diseases, with an action plan for control and prevention.
