Dan Evans set a U.S. Open record by winning the longest match since tiebreakers were introduced in 1970. Evans beat Karen Khachanov 6-7 (6), 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-4 in 5 hours, 35 minutes. Trailing 0-4 in the fifth set, Evans managed to win the final six games. He is now set to play Mariano Navone in the second round.
