Telecom companies have disconnected nearly 73 lakh mobile connections for failing reverification, flagged due to fake proof of identity or address. The Department of Telecommunications identified about 81 lakh such connections. Minister Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar also revealed that 66 lakh connections exceeding the limit were cut, bringing the count within prescribed limits.
