The All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council (AISSC), led by Syed Naseruddin Chishty, welcomed the government's proposal to amend the Wakf Board Act, citing mismanagement and corruption within the current system. Chishty, representing sufi shrines, demanded a separate dargah board under the law, criticising the dictatorial manner in which wakf boards operate. AISSC met with government officials to ensure stakeholders are consulted, emphasizing the need for wider consultations on the Bill.
