The Indian Navy is set to acquire three more Scorpene-class submarines, with the French Naval Group partnering to integrate an indigenous combat management system from Bharat Electronics Limited. The additional submarines, to be built at Mazagon Dockyards, will feature up to 60% Indian content. Naval Group's Vincent Martinot-Lagarde emphasized that this project will enhance India's submarine capabilities and create skilled jobs domestically. The initiative aims to bolster India's self-reliance in defense and develop a regional hub for submarine construction.
