Several NGOs run by the Muslim community in Uttar Pradesh are not setting up their annual relief camps for kanwariyas this year due to controversy over name plates outside businesses. The relief camps typically provide food, shelter, medical aid, and foot massages for thousands of pilgrims walking long distances. The cancellation of these camps, including one of the biggest in Muzaffarnagar, is causing concern about communal harmony and unnecessary negativity.
