Ahead of the festivals of Bakrid and Jyeshtha Ganga Dussehra, Noida and Greater Noida police are implementing Section 144 of the CrPC from Sunday to Wednesday to ensure peace. The order prohibits public prayers, processions, and other religious events without special permission. Additional DCP Hirdesh Katheriya cited the need for these measures due to potential disruptions by anti-social elements. Restrictions include limitations on large assemblies, drone use near government offices, and loudspeakers. Violations will be punishable under IPC Section 188. The order is in effect from June 16 to 19, with modifications as per UP government orders.
