The GT Association (GTA) has published the entry list for the eighth and final round of the 2023 Autobacs SUPER GT Series, the Motegi GT 300km Race Grand Final which takes place on 5 November from Mobility Resort Motegi.
There are no changes in the GT500 class, where three teams will go into the final round with a chance at the championship: The #36 au TOM’s Toyota GR Supra (Sho Tsuboi/Ritomo Miyata), the #3 CraftSports Motul Z (Katsumasa Chiyo/Mitsunori Takaboshi), and the #16 ARTA Mugen Honda NSX-GT (Nirei Fukuzumi/Hiroki Otsu). Success Ballast is no longer a factor in this final round.
The Motegi Grand Final will also be the final race for three-time GT500 Drivers’ Champion, Yuji Tachikawa, and for the second-generation Honda NSX-GT, both of which are retiring at the end of the season.
Iori Kimura will get his second start at Team Kunimitsu, in relief of Naoki Yamamoto who is still recovering from a neck injury sustained at Sportsland Sugo.

Among the 25 GT300 entries, there are a couple of significant changes to report. First, Kazuto Kotaka and Yuki Nemoto will drive the #31 apr Lexus LC500h after scoring the car’s first podium at Autopolis.
Nemoto, who has split time between SUPER GT and GT World Challenge Europe effectively this season, will replace Koki Saga in the lineup. Saga will remain with the team in a supporting role, but the veteran driver’s 14-year streak of consecutive races behind the wheel of the apr #31 will come to an end.
Meanwhile, Tomei Sports has brought back Yusaku Shibata to partner Takayuki Aoki in the #360 RunUp Rivaux Nissan GT-R. Shibata, the six-time national gymkhana champion and owner of Arvou tuning shop, recently competed in this year’s World Time Attack Challenge at Sydney Motorsports Park.
Only two teams still remain mathematically eligible for the GT300 championship, but the #52 Saitama Toyopet GreenBrave Toyota GR Supra (Hiroki Yoshida/Kohta Kawaai) can clinch the championship during Saturday afternoon’s Qualifying session if the second-ranked #2 muta Racing Toyota GR86 (Yuui Tsutsumi/Hibiki Taira) doesn’t win the pole position. Even then, Yoshida and Kawaai only need to finish in the top ten to clinch the championship.
