Since 1997, the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation has partnered with the Rancho Los Amgios National Rehabilitation Center for recreational, visual arts therapy. Rancho’s goal of art therapy aims to help patients hone skills of self-expression and confidence-building that will allow them to channel the challenges of their daily lives through their own creativity — reducing stress and anxiety.
The foundation supports the Artists of Rancho Los Amigos Exhibition each year to educate local communities about the rehab facility’s patients and their artistic capabilities.
The Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, in Downey, has existed for more than 125 years, and helps 2,500 patients annually, according to its website.
