The Nicosia Municipality on Friday announced the launch of a new two-month business accelerator programme.
This initiative is specifically aimed at individuals, teams, and existing businesses in the creative and cultural sectors who are looking to develop their ideas.
According to a statement from the municipality, the Nicosia HUB-IN Accelerator is “designed to support the growth of creative and cultural enterprises”.
The programme is offered free of charge and is being implemented in collaboration with the University of Cyprus’ Centre for Scientific Training, Evaluation, and Development, the Cyprus Energy Agency, and the CYENS Centre of Excellence.
The accelerator focuses on entrepreneurial ideas, products, and services within the creative and cultural industries, with a particular emphasis on preserving and showcasing the historical and cultural heritage of Nicosia.
“The programme’s aim is to foster entrepreneurial skills and create new opportunities for sustainable business development,” the statement explained.
What is more, the core purpose of the programme is to provide mentorship, guidance, and essential entrepreneurial knowledge that will “empower participants to successfully develop their ideas and start-ups, maximising both their economic and social impact”.
The programme offers workshops on entrepreneurship, marketing, project management, and human resources.
Participants will also receive tailored mentoring from experienced professionals and have the chance to network with key figures in the industry.
The announcement also said that upon completion, participants will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas and compete for funding to develop their businesses.
During the programme, participants will also have the chance to develop a business plan, gain financial management skills, and prepare for pitching their ideas.
Workshops will be held weekly from 17:30 to 21:30 at Nicosia City Hall.
The deadline for applications is Monday, September 9, 2024, and applicants can submit their forms online.
