Paphos police arrested a 39-year-old man on Sunday for an investigated case of illegal employment in a restaurant, while the owner of the restaurant was also accused.
According to the police, the worker was arrested shortly after 11am on Sunday by immigration officers who checked the restaurant following a tip off.
At the scene they found a cleaner of African origin, identified as a 39-year-old political asylum seeker. Police determined that the man was not in possession of a work permit and arrested him for the evident crime.
The owner of the restaurant, a permanent resident, was also arrested. Both were charged in writing and released to be summoned at a later date.
