A 21-year-old man died on Tuesday after being involved in a traffic accident in Dasaki Achnas the previous evening.
The man named as Neofytos Constanti died after a crash that involved three cars and a motorcycle in Dasaki Achnas within the Dhekelia base at about 7.30pm, British Bases police said.
A vehicle driven by a 52-year-old Cypriot swerved to avoid a vehicle parked on the side of the road as he was being overtaken by the 21-year-old on his motorbike.
A car was coming from the opposite direction, driven by a 19-year-old. As a result, the two cars and the motorcycle collided with each other.
Constanti was taken to Nicosia General Hospital, where he underwent surgical procedures, but succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
The two other drivers were subjected to alcohol and drug tests with negative results. After giving a statement, they were released on bail.
