The Paphos district court on Saturday issued a five-day remand for a 45-year-old woman in an investigated case of theft of thousands of euros from a department store in Paphos.
The 45-year-old woman was arrested on Friday, assistant Paphos police chief Michalis Nikolaou told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA).
According to Nikolaou, the owner of the shop reported on Thursday that company audits spanning the start of the year through July 30, revealed a shortfall of €38,831 missing in cash from receipts.
Suspicions were raised against a 45-year-old woman who was an employee at the time, and an arrest warrant was issued against her.
She was brought to court on Saturday and remanded for five days.
