An upcoming event is Paphos pays homage to Cyprus’ rich underwater world. On August 8 a photography exhibition, book presentation and video projection will put the Mediterranean Sea in the spotlight.
The event is dedicated to the distinguished underwater photographer and author Sakis Lazarides and has been organised by the Chlorakas Cultural – Environmental Association, Paphos House of Arts and Literature, the AKTI Project and Research Center and the Paphos Coastal Fisheries Association.
Held at the Pafos House of Arts Literature for one night only, a photography exhibition of astonishing images of sea life and the underwater world will be displayed. The event will also feature photo and video projections and present the books The Magical World of Seahorses (written by Dimitris Pafras, Sakis Lazarides) and The Dusky Mediterranean Grouper, a photographic guide of the fish with amazing facts and stunning photographs by Lazarides.
Fascinated by marine life, Lazarides has spent decades exploring and documenting the underwater world. His images have received distinctions in underwater photography competitions and have been published in articles in the National Geographic and the World Wildlife magazine including others.
