We are excited to introduce Michele, the newest member of the CURLSASK team! Michele brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for sport to her new role as Office Coordinator, and we are thrilled to have her on board.
Michele’s roots run deep in Saskatchewan. Born into a large extended family in Saskatoon, she later attended high school in Regina. Her educational journey took her to the University of British Columbia (UBC), where she completed both of her university degrees. Michele’s career path has been as diverse as it is impressive. She has worked in administration and teaching in Vancouver, spent several years teaching in the Arctic and northern Saskatchewan, and finally returned to Regina in 2007.
Michele’s experience in sports administration is extensive. She served as the Coordinator of Administration and Registration for the Saskatchewan Soccer Association, where she honed her skills in managing the operations of a large sports organization. Seeking to expand her expertise, she transitioned to Sask Sport as an accounting coordinator, diving into the financial administration side of the sport. Her diverse background in both administration and finance makes her a valuable asset to CURLSASK.
Michele is especially excited about her new role with CURLSASK. As a prairie girl, curling has always had a special place in her heart. She is eager to work alongside our fantastic team to grow the sport across the province. Michele’s enthusiasm for curling and her commitment to excellence align perfectly with our mission to become the leading provincial sports organization in Saskatchewan.
“We’re thrilled to have someone with such a rich background join us,” said Steve Turner, CURLSASK Executive Director. “Michele’s experience in sports administration, combined with a deep-rooted love for curling and commitment to community, makes her the perfect fit for CURLSASK!”
When she’s not working, Michele enjoys a rich and varied personal life. She and her husband are raising two teenagers, which keeps them busy and engaged. In her free time, Michele is a dedicated fibre artist and a long-standing member of the Regina Weavers and Spinners Guild. She also has a passion for collecting and restoring vintage sewing machines, reading, powerlifting, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. This summer, Michele and her family have embarked on a new project—transforming their garden into a pollinator-friendly space, a venture that has brought them much joy.
We are thrilled to welcome Michele to the CURLSASK community and are confident that her leadership and enthusiasm will contribute significantly to our mission. Join us in welcoming Michele to the team, and stay tuned for the exciting developments that lie ahead!
