Yash Dayal, a rookie bowler, said that while he was playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), great Indian hitter Virat Kohli helped to strengthen his mindset.
Dayal talked about how comfortable he felt with Kohli’s assistance in a recent interview with Sports Tak.
Throughout the season, Kohli promised to support him and make him feel like a member of the team.
Dayal cherished the memories of Kohli’s remarks, highlighting their constructive influence.
“The biggest thing he (Kohli) said to me was that he will back me the whole season,” Dayal mentioned. This assurance helped Dayal settle in quickly and perform better. He no longer felt like he was in an unfamiliar environment, thanks to Kohli’s encouragement and support.
Dayal was struck by Kohli’s attitude towards the younger players. He highlighted that Kohli addresses the children in a “very healthy way,” dispelling any unfavorable impressions fostered by the media. Kohli’s encouraging demeanor made the newbies feel at ease and self-assured. Dayal said that Kohli is not like the intense persona that is frequently shown on television.
“He fully supported me and assured me that I wouldn’t feel like I had moved to a new place.
This was a major boost, and he speaks to the kids in a really healthy way. He is also completely different from what people see on TV. That’s not how I feel,” Dayal said to Sports Tak.
Dayal’s story demonstrates how positively Kohli affects younger players. Kohli’s comforting words and amiable manner foster a welcome environment where new team members can flourish.
