Indian captain Rohit Sharma, known for his on-field fun talks, was recently spotted with KL Rahul having a funny chat during the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI. This is the first time for Rohit to go out for an ODI. On the other hand, KL Rahul is coming back after a long break.
This fun incident happened during the 14th over. Shivam Dube was bowling and he sent his fourth ball down the leg side as the Sri Lankan batter missed his shot and the ball got into hands of wicketkeeper KL Rahul. Dube, who got a wicket in the first ball, started appealing with KL Rahul for an edge.
The ball remained untouched and the umpire even marked it as a wide since replays revealed that the ball was near to the bat. KL Rahul, showing his other side, asked Rohit Sharma in an amusing way if the wide rule in IPL applies in ODIs as well. The video of this moment went viral in no time.
Here is the video:
In IPL, the rule states that if the batting team or the bowling team does not agree with the umpire’s decision on a wide call, they can challenge it by taking a review.
