In a video posted by the BCCI, Rohit Sharma revealed why the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph is more special to him than India’s inaugural T20 World Cup triumph in 2007.
“2007 was a different feeling, we started off in the afternoon. This is in the evening. I cannot forget 2007 as it was my first World Cup. This is little more special because I was leading the team. It’s a very proud moment for me,” Rohit said.
After having a meeting with PM Narendra Modi in Delhi, the Indian team went to Mumbai where they had a victory parade with tens of thousands of fans at Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium.
“You can make out the excitement. It shows how much it means not just to us but also to the entire nation. It means a lot. I am very happy that we could achieve something like this for them as well,” said Rohit, while cheering the fans.
