England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and decided to bat against India in the fifth Test at Dharamsala. England’s Jonny Bairstow and India’s renowned all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin have been awarded their 100th Test caps. Devdutt Padikkal, a young hitter for India, has won his first Test cap and has replaced Rajat Patidar in the lineup. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah has replaced Akash Deep in the playing XI. Mark Wood, a pacer for England, has replaced Ollie Robinson.
Rajat Patidar gets injured
“Rajat Patidar got hit on his left ankle during Team India’s practice session on 6th March, 2024. He pulled up sore on the morning of the game and was not available for selection for the 5th Test,” stated the BCCI.
