The Children’s Chess Week is organized by the Children Cultural and Recreation Center Nis.
As part of today’s activities FM Dragan Živić gave a simul at the King Milan square of the city. Participants were children from the Chess School of the Children’s Cultural and Recreation Center, members of the Chess Section of Elementary School “Ivan Goran Kovačić” and Elementary School “Dr. Zoran Đinđić”, as well as children who visited the event, participated. A total of 29 boards were setup for the simul and FM Dragan Zivic won 26 games and drew 3 – after 2 hours of play, Dimitrije Frtunić, Lucija Jajac and Mateja Jovanović shook hands with the FIDE Master for a draw.
FM Zivic said for Chessdom, “It was a great honor and pleasure to see smart children and their desire to compete. The audience in the central city square was like at a football match!”

The simul was completed with the help of MK Goran Savić, while arbiter of the event was Prof. Dragana Dimitrijevic – Blagojević – candidate masters and head of the chess section in the schools whose children participated. The technical organization was helped by prof. Jovan Zivkovic. Each child received sweet presents and a surprise by Branka Đorđević, director of SC Čair, who brought the children extra prizes from the renowned brand “Puma”.
