West Ham United reportedly look set to offload Danny Ings this week after his difficult time at the club since he joined back in January 2023.
Ings hasn’t shown his best form in a Hammers shirt and it isn’t too surprising that the east London outfit are now keen to offload him due to him being their second highest earner on £125,000 a week.
That’s far from ideal as West Ham won’t want to be paying huge sums of money like that to someone they’re not really using, while reports also claim his presence got in the way of the club signing Jhon Duran from Aston Villa this summer.
Duran has shown himself to be an exciting young talent and also attracted interest from Chelsea earlier in the summer, though he ended up staying at Villa Park.
If West Ham can find a buyer for Ings soon, that could help them try again for Duran or a similar player in January.
Julen Lopetegui would surely do well to strengthen his attack and replace someone like Ings, who has clearly fallen down the pecking order.
