Tottenham striker Troy Parrott has claimed that a return to the club could be possible in the future.
Parrott refused to rule out a return to North London despite having his complete focus on AZ Alkmaar.
After his impressive performances for Excelsior Rotterdam last season, Parrott caught the attention of Dutch clubs and now AZ Alkmaar have shown faith in him by signing him this summer.
As per Football.London, the attacker left the Tottenham Stadium in a £6.7million deal to join the Eredivisie club.
The striker wanted to make it big at Tottenham but he did not get many opportunities to prove himself.
Parrott wanted to be a part of Ange Postecoglou’s team but the manager had other ideas and Parrott looked for a move away from the club.
The 22-year-old has now talked about a potential return to the club in the future.
He told De Telegraaf, as reported by Football.London:
“You never know how things are going to go in football.”
At a young age, the move away from Tottenham is right for his career as he needs more playing time.
The more first team action he gets, the more quicker his development will be.
Nobody knows what the future holds and how the Tottenham attacking situation will look like in the future but if he can perform for AZ Alkmaar, a return to North London could be possible.
The fans and the club had high hopes of him but he did not turn out to be like many had imagined.
He is still young and has a lot of time in his career and under the right environment and coaching atmosphere, Parrott can develop into the player the Tottenham faithful once expected.
Postecoglou has added some new players to the squad this summer but there is a general feeling that a new attacker is needed who can help share the burden of scoring goals with the current players.
