Former Rep. Liz Cheney said she would be voting for Vice President Kamala Harris, a Democrat, for president.
Cheney served as part of GOP House leadership before she was ousted in 2021 and then later lost her primary in Wyoming in 2022. She is the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who served with former President George W. Bush.
The former congresswoman made the announcement during a speaking event at Duke University. There, identifying herself as a "conservative," she reiterated her stance that former President Donald Trump was a "danger" to democracy.
