It was thanks to his biography penned by his wife that he became the sensational news. The biography revealed about him having sexual affairs with two of his maids when he was just 14 years old.
We are talking about Om Puri. The actor who appeared in some of the biggest films like Aakrosh, Gandhi, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Mirch Masala, Chachi 420, Awaara Pagla Deewana had his biography titled Unlikely Hero: Story of Om Puri published in the year 2009. It was penned by his wife Nandita Puri. After the launch of the book, the headlines were all about Om Puri having a sexual encounter with his maid who was 55 years old. Not one, but he had two such affairs with maids. It led to a massive controversy as he reportedly expressed his disappointment and disagreement with his wife for revealing his personal life to such detail in the biography. The actor had reacted to the same and as reported by SpotboyE, he was then quoted saying, "Aap (referring to the audience) mujhe bataiye, esme 14 saal ke bache ka kasoor tha ki 55 saal ki aurat ka?"
Om Puri and Nandita Puri parted ways in 2013. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Nandita Puri had revealed whether Om Puri was upset with his personal life making it to the headlines. She shared that he wasn't upset with her but was affected as this episode became the highlight of biography launch instead of his career, childhood and struggle. She also revealed that Om Puri was quite open about the incident being revealed even when he was told that he has a son. He said that his son should know the truth. In 2017, Om Puri passed away at the age of 66.
