As the calendar tips towards the Fall, we’ve been hearing a lot of folks talking about going camping…by bike. We are stoked to announce that next month BikeAthens is going to do a quick little overnight trip to Danielsville at Camp Kiwanis!
When? 12p Saturday, September 10th – 1p Sunday, September 11th
Where? BikeAthens to Camp Kiwanis 2613 Old Wildcat Bridge Rd, Danielsville, GA 30633. We’ve rented the field and pavilion.
How much? $10 per bike. Cash or card the day of the ride. 20 reserved slots available.
The purpose of this trip is for people of all experience levels to ride bikes, test out their gear, get some good advice and have a great time. Hopefully this will lead to more rides and more adventures on bikes (Watson’s Mill anyone?).
You’ll be joined alongside BikeAthens friends, volunteers, board members, and staff. We’ll be here to help with any questions or bike repairs before and during the ride. We can even help with getting you set up with the right gear. We’ll have a couple of people driving up some supplies by car, so if you can’t fit all your stuff on your bike this trip, we’ll have you covered.
The ride rolls out from the shop at noon on Saturday 9/10, and returns around 1pm on Sunday 9/11. The camp is 24.6-26.6 miles away depending on route, final route will be posted soon and links made available via RideWithGPS.
Before the ride, stop by any Thursday night during FYOB to get help with your bike, setting up racks, attaching bags, advice about camp stoves and tent setups, etc.
