NEW YORK, New York - U.S. stock markets had a quiet but positive day Friday, with the Nasdaq Composite and Standard and Poor's 500 clawing back losses of the previous day, while the Dow Jones index recovered from early losses to rally towards the close, and notch up a new record high.
