ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Two injured Russian climbers were rescued after being stranded for six days on a remote peak in northeastern Pakistan.
The climbers, part of a five-member team, were attempting to retrieve the body of a fellow climber who had died on one of Gasherbrum's peaks last year. The team was struck by an avalanche late last week, which left the group stranded and one climber missing, presumed dead.<
